Senior Associate

Amani is a Senior Associate at Phi Finney McDonald’s London office, after having worked in the firm’s Melbourne office for almost two years. In their role, Amani manages staff, develops case strategy, and oversees various aspects of the litigation process, including discovery review, evidence preparation, and client relationships.

Amani brings valuable experience from previous roles at an Australian top tier commercial law firm and as an Associate to the Honourable Justice Michael O’Bryan at the Federal Court of Australia. Alongside their legal work, Amani is the founding president of the African Australian Legal Network, the first body established in Australia dedicated to the advancement of African Australians in the law. It seeks to create opportunities for African Australian lawyers as well as advocating for just treatment of the African Australian community by the law more broadly.

At Phi Finney McDonald, Amani is involved in developing and running novel and innovative cases, such as the Apple and Google class actions and the ANZ credit cards class action. Amani is committed to achieving access to justice for those harmed by corporate wrongdoing, and applying their skills and experience to make a meaningful impact.
